Rho Chapter is hosting “Spike Out MS,” a community volleyball event designed to raise funds and awareness in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event will bring community members together for a fun, family-friendly athletic activity while supporting individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
Funds raised will primarily be used to support the costs associated with hosting the event and creating an engaging experience for participants and attendees. One planned component is a food and beverage vendor to provide refreshments throughout the event such as Travelin Tom’s Coffee Truck or Groovy Gus Donut Bus.
The event will also include a fall/Christmas-themed raffle basket. We plan to partner with local businesses to obtain donated items for the basket, helping to reduce event expenses while providing an additional fundraising opportunity. Raffle proceeds will contribute to the overall funds raised for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In addition, the volleyball tournament will include small prizes for the winning team, most likely donated food or gift items. These prizes will provide an incentive for participation and help create a fun, competitive atmosphere while keeping the focus on the charitable purpose of the event.
Overall, the funding will help us provide the necessary food, refreshments, prizes, and event-related expenses needed to make “Spike Out MS” successful. By combining an athletic tournament, community gathering, raffle, and local business partnerships, the project will create multiple opportunities to raise funds while increasing awareness of MS and the work of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
We anticipate that the event will directly impact approximately 100 participants and attendees, including volleyball players, families, volunteers, supporters, and community members. Beyond those attending the event, the project will have a broader impact by raising funds for MS programs and services and increasing awareness of multiple sclerosis within our community. The event will also give local businesses and community members opportunities to contribute through sponsorships, donations, participation, and volunteer support.
The ultimate goal of “Spike Out MS” is to turn a fun community event into meaningful support for individuals and families affected by MS while building a tradition of community involvement and charitable giving that can continue in future years.
